Land-In-Pro webGIS platforms are online!
The activities carried out in Work Package 3 (WP3) play a central role in achieving Land-In-Pro’s research objectives. WP3 connects the project’s main phases: the collection of data (WP1), the in-depth study of the pilot site (WP2), and the subsequent evaluation and interpretation phase (WP4). It brings together information from archival and bibliographic sources, planning documents, on-site surveys, and ethnographic interviews, organising them within an integrated GIS and database system developed with the collaboration of MARSC Lab and the Geomatics Lab at the University of Genoa (UniGe).
The main outputs of WP3 are two open-access Land-In-Pro WebGIS platforms:
- Land-In-Pro | Ferrania Industrial Heritage (Cairo Montenotte)
- Land-In-Pro | Pilot Site Historic Industrial Landscape Classification
The webGIS applications are built from QGIS projects developed by Land-In-Pro researchers using the Roma40/Gauss–Boaga reference system (EPSG 3003) and are implemented through Lizmap by G.ter.
Land-In-Pro | Ferrania Industrial Heritage (Cairo Montenotte)
Land-In-Pro | Ferrania Industrial Heritage (Cairo Montenotte), is the online version of the GIS/DBMS developed for the pilot site of Ferrania (Cairo Montenotte, Savona), chosen as a case study. It includes the photo survey and information collected during the pilot site mapping (Milestone M2), a summary of the ethnographic campaigns with citations, the mapped routes and locations of the go-along and static interviews, and a synthesis of their contents.
